ADVENTURE CLUB WAS A WILD RIDE AT THE COWAN NASHVILLE, TN APRIL 9TH 2019

Adventure Club was a wild ride from start to finish. The duo from Montreal threw down last night at The Cowan in Nashville.

The night started off promisingly, with openers YAKZ, Wooli, and ARMNHMR playing their sets to a room full of ravers and headbangers. YAKZ’s style leaned toward hard, filthy dubstep alla Skrillex and Excision. As he threw out a whole host of glitch and bass, an eerie red light saturated the room. This only amplified the intense vibe his music had created.

When Wooli’s turn came to play, he got more people dancing. His bass drops and melodic lines got people banging their heads and swinging their arms in all directions. Meanwhile ARMNHMR brought an unmatched enthusiasm to the show. The LA-based duo was incredibly fun to watch. They fed off of each other’s energy and hyped up the crowd, warming us up for the main act. Still, I don’t think any of us were ready.

By the time headliners Adventure Club took the stage, the venue had filled to near capacity. It was as if Christian Srigley and Leighton James had sent out a bat signal, summoning every headbanger in Music City. Their bass drops and melodic lines awakened something deep inside everyone in the audience – a primal compulsion to go HAM, hard AF, or whatever you want to call it. What’s great about Adventure Club is their use of extremes – highs and lows. Their music evokes an intense physical as well as an emotional reaction. They bring your heart to the ceiling with soaring melodies, then promptly drop-kick it into the ground with their signature gritty bass and hard beats.

You know you’ve experienced an incredible show when you leave with an exploded mind and ringing ears. And that’s exactly what happened last night. Adventure Club and company put on such a wild show that my heart and ears still flutter with delight eight hours later.
