RITES OF SPRING MUSIC FESTIVAL APRIL 13TH 2019 NASHVILLE, TN

For the second night of Rites of Spring, festival goers braved the impending rain and thunderstorms in hopes of seeing all acts perform. There were two lightning delays, but most of the crowd stayed the entire time. Due to Soulja Boy‘s arrest earlier this week, Saturday night’s acts were also short one.

BIG K.R.I.T.

Opening the show Saturday was hip hop/rap artist Lackhoney. As a former student at Vanderbilt University, he was extremely excited for the first appearance at Rites of Spring. Just a few songs into Lackhoney’s set, he had to stop due to lightning. After a short delay, fans flooded back in the gates to hear more.

Next to perform was Mississippi native Big K.R.I.T. This man and his energy is infectious! He opens the set with the track “Look What I Got” and the crowd immediately goes wild. He also paid a lovely tribute to Nipsey Hussle that had the whole crowd yelling RIP NIP. KRIT finished the set with another crowd favorite, “Pick Yourself Up”.

During the break prior to the last act, lightning struck again. Fans relocated to other areas of the campus for safety but the gates opened shortly after for the final performer, 21 Savage. The turnout for 21 was intense to say the least. His fans are extremely loyal and supportive. 21 performed many of his big tracks which pleased the fans that waited all night to see him.

Despite the last minute changes to the lineup, the Rites of Spring festival was Nashville magic!
