REO SPEEDWAGON, CHICAGO – EVENT RECAP

REO SPEEDWAGON To say this show was energetic, is an understatement. REO Speedwagon started off the night with a bang, opening the show with their hit “Don’t Let Him Go“. Kevin Cronin, in all his glory, belted out the lyrics with the crowd singing along word for word. Fans were on their feet the entire show and for all 12 songs, sang along, cheering and having a great time. REO sang some of my favorite songs, also some of their greatest hits, including: ?Can?t Fight This Feeling?, ?Time for Me to Fly?, and ?Take it on the Run?. Don?t worry guys, they didn?t leave out ?Roll With the Changes?, as they closed their set with that fan favorite. The boys weren?t finished yet and appeared to ask some official person if there was time for one more. This ?official? argued with Cronin and Cronin finally waved him off and went forward to do one more. However, it wasn?t an REO song they played, they paid tribute to legendary great, Tom Petty, and closed the evening with a cover of ?Listen to Her Heart?. Turns out that official is their tour manager. Their little ?argument? definitely got the crowd riled and ended the show spectacularly.

Chicago took the stage and of course the crowd went crazy. Jimmy Pankow, blasting his trombone, was an awesome site; the guy still has it! Walter Parazaider came out with his Saxophone and killed it, as usual. The band went on to play 31.. thats right 31 songs; playing an entire greatest hits album over the span of 2 hours. It was great to see the guys on stage again and I cannot wait to see both of these bands again in the future! A great night, albeit warm out, the shows were both spectacular.
